Purpose in Motion
The mission of the Lincoln Bike Kitchen is to transform lives by making cycling accessible to people in need.
LBK refurbishes donated bicycles and distributes them to people in our community facing financial or situational barriers, expanding access to safe, reliable bikes and bike-related resources
We are a community-building organization that advocates for utilitarian bicycling as a vital part of a healthy, equitable and sustainable community. We connect cycling to broader environmental and social issues through outreach and education.
Our Vision
We envision LBK to be the hub between community and cycling.

Who We Are
Staff
At the Lincoln Bike Kitchen, we’re fortunate to have a talented team of people who keep our mission rolling—led by Executive Director Shari Weiss Shanks and supported by dedicated staff—Cat Griffith and Wayne Schafer. Together, Shari, Cat, and Wayne embody the heart of the Lincoln Bike Kitchen—sharing their expertise, mentoring volunteers, and helping more people in Lincoln enjoy the freedom and opportunity that a bicycle provides.
