What We're Looking For

LBK offers a variety of volunteer opportunities, including customer support, shop work (training provided!), events, data entry, and skill‑based support like IT or finance.

With the exception of IT, finance, and data‑entry roles, volunteer positions are active and hands‑on, requiring movement throughout the space, standing for periods of time, and some lifting (up to 25 lbs). Volunteers should take these physical requirements into consideration when applying.

Who Can Volunteer at LBK

To meet growing community needs, LBK welcomes adults 18 and older who can commit to at least three shifts per month on an ongoing basis.

Our limited training time is focused on preparing long-term volunteers to help refurbish bikes for people who need them. We’re currently unable to accommodate court-ordered community service, course-required volunteer hours, on-the-job training, or other short-term placements. Due to the nature of our work, we cannot offer youth (under 18) volunteer positions.

Groups interested in a one-day service project are welcome to contact us to discuss availability.

If you’re ready to make an ongoing commitment, start with an orientation to learn how we work and find a role that fits your interests.

Orientation Details:

• Plan to arrive at the City Municipal Building, 308 S. 21st Street, at 10 a.m. on the orientation day you choose
• There's plenty of parking and bike racks in front of the building
• Come to the front door and ring the bell
• The orientation should take 30 minutes or less
